I grew up in a small town of 250 residents at 7000ft elevation in Southern California. I was on skis at 2 years old and have not stopped since. In 8th grade I started to build a passion for running. My running and skiing has continued to progress, but will never pay the bills. I was self-trained for running for a long time after college and recently found a coach to help me with training, which has helped me to PR in the 5K 18:03, 10K 38:07, and Marathon 2:54. All of this being accomplished with a full-time job and other part time commitments. I realized how nice the pros have it to take naps during their marathon training! Running will never pay the bills, but I have thankfully found a way for my skiing to pay the bills! I became a Professional Ski Patroller in the 2012-2013 season and am continuing to pursue careers in the ski industry. I will never be featured in the newest Matchstick Productions Film, but for an "Average Athlete" I can hold my own on the slopes, and I have the biggest smile in my face while doing it. I am also a mountain biker, rock climber, swimmer, dog mom to a bad ass Australian Shepherd (he is an excellent athlete), and a lover of being outside. I am not exceptional at any athletic endeavor, but enjoy most minutes of doing these activities and that is what matters. I am definitely an Average Athlete and try to use my passions and athletic pursuits to inspire other average people to train and practice to reach their full potential! Thank you for embodying this!

I like that Average Athlete was founded on the premiss of not taking yourself too seriously and enjoying the journey. In a society where hyperbole and spectacle are rampant, Average Athlete aims to celebrate that we all have our good days and our not so good days. We all have our average, in all that we do. And although part of life is working to improve that average, another part is learning to accept where you are and also embrace what you are passionate about without the obsession of end goals, but rather the appreciation of the present. I couldn't think of a better kit to race and train in this year. Get involved in this #average movement, don't be shy - ¡Es Posible!

I thought it was a cool/funny celebration of the regular old average athlete!

I like to be active especially when it involves a beer at the end!

Though I am a lean, mean, fighting machine... I must confess to being an average athlete. That being said, I believe it is not "ability" that matters. But instead it is the spirit, joy and love of sports, adventure, and the great outdoors that defines any "athlete". My trophy room seems to be empty..... but that is just a material thing that will never define success for me!

I'm in a grocery store and I'm wondering why this attractive person seems to be checking me out...when we passed each other in the aisle they said "I like your shirt"...wearing my Average Athlete shirt!
